FISHING FOR A CURE A GREAT SUCCESS !
This years' event saw a lot of people sign up the week leading to the tournament and most of those on the day of the event. The first fish was weighed in at Baypark, and the last one was weighed in at Babylon fishing station
The winning Fluke came from the AB reef area and weighed 9.55lbs! The largest seabass came from The Rockaway Reef and was 4.10 lbs. There were over 80 participants and the event was enjoyed by all! Many fish were caught and many weighed in. The awards celebration was well done hosted by Johnny Malones. The raffles were a hit and many participants won nice things. A Look back at Last years Fishing for a Cure:
Fishing For A Cure Fuke Tournament a Success!
The Second Annual Fishing for a Cure Fluke tournament was a great success as around 100 participants headed out in search of a large Fluke , Seabass and Sea robins, all in the name of raising funds for a great cause! The tournament began right on time at 630 am on July 27th. The weather was about as nice as could be hoped for, fishing in the recent weeks was steady and the early morning walk up registration numbers were very good. The first fish weighed in for the event was a Sea Bass weighed in at Freeport at 105 pm and the last fish were weighed in at Baypark fishing station at the 430 deadline. Captree had some late weigh ins too, that made the deadline . There were winning fluke weighed in at all locations and baypark had the most fish weighed in. The tournaments web page on this site is updated and as more photos come in, I will add them.

Atlantis Anglers in the Media!
On the Water magazines highlighted fishing clubs in NY and NJ and recognized our club for its support of the First Annual Fishing for a Cure Fluke Tournament! They posted a Great Shot taken at Bay Park Fishing Station by our own Heather Bernot! (as well as printing the information about our club)
We Were pleased to be man a table at the NYSF Sportfishing Forum & Auction, held 2/14-2/16
Our members spoke with visitors and answered any questions they had about belonging to a fishing club.
We also displayed a nice pair of Atlantic Custom Rods built by Capt Richie Zarini that we will be raffling off from tickets sold at the show.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and said hello!
