Meetings are held each month, except in Dec., at the Baldwin Park community room at the southern end of Grand Avenue in Baldwin. These meetings often feature guest speakers, and have refreshments and raffles for our members. Discussions about fishing related issues are had, and current fishing reports from our members are given.
Meetings start at 745 pm.

June 22nd 2021 ,
The club welcomed back Chris LaPorta of the NY DEC reef program. Chris showed a power point presentation and gave a lot of good information about the direction of the reef program and some new happenings since the pandemic. He answered questions and spent a lot of time with us. We thank Chris!
We discussed the inter club event on tap for the weekend, went over the upcoming charter for fluke & started sign up list, handed out shirts from the first order and started a second order as well!
We ended the night with our raffles and fishing reports and adjourned at 930pm.

Wednesday February 26th 2019,
The club welcomed in one of the areas finest captains as Nick Savene of the NO TIME held a great lecture on Blackfishing and touched on all aspects including the new approach of bucktaling for blacks on the south shore. All in attendence enjoyec the meeting!
We gave out the new club calendars and also did an order for club apparel and also signed up people for both the dinner and the charter May 9th.
Meeting adjourned at 855 pm.
October 22nd 2019 ,
we welcomed Just fishing charters owner/ operatior capt John Halkias to the club. John conducted a seminar on east end shallow water jigging for blackfish. A POWER POINT accompanied the discussion adding detail and showing results of past trips. John had a great time as did we and we will surely have him come to the club again in the future!
July 23rd
News 12 Meteorologist and avid fisherman Rich Von Ohlen
camed to the club and conducted a nice disucssion on weather and its affects on fishing and what to expect as we move forward both with the state of fishing and how weather patterns will be in play. We thank Rich for a great evening and hope he will visit again with us soon!
Wednesday March 27th,
Capt Tom Mikeleski of the Grand Slam stopped by and gave us a great seminar on Montauk Striped bass and fluke fishing.
He brought along a power point with some nice shots of big fish from the point area . We were happy to have Tom come to speak and hope he can stop by again sometime!

January 22nd, 2019
Chris LaPorta of the NYS Dec artificial reef program was our special guest. He conducted a detailed informative discussion complete with some photos and handouts . We learned many things about the progress of the program, the state of our artificial reefs and the things that are in the works for the immediate future. Members had a question and answer session with Chris as well so everyone learned quite a bit. We thank Chris for spending the evening with us!

Great end of the year holiday party and meeting, with hot and cold food, many desserts and lots of doorprizes! Awesome turnout of 40 members and associates. Did fishing reports, a little club buisness and adjourned.

We had a great time with Capt Ed. Velardi as he conducted a detailed workshop on bucktailing for Tog! All in attendance were glad they came as Eds powerpoint and seminar was very good!
Septemer 25th,
We once again had a succesful tackle auction complete with some laughs and many good deals available for those in attendance! As usual a few quite unique items went up for auction, If you missed it this time, plan on making the next one!
At the break we took deposits and filled up the space on the Blackfish trip out of Orient November 11th. to fish Rhode Island.
February 27th 2018;
We had the pleasure of having Capt Dan Buckley Jr of the Orient star do a seminar on Fluking and Blackfising in the waters off orient point and we got good use of our new projector and screen as he had a nice powerpoint presentation as well. The meeting was well attended by members and perspective members alike.
October 24th 2017,
We had the pleasure of welcoming capt Robert Schmitt of the Charter boat Sea Rogue down to our meeting. The captain put on a fine clinic going over some of the finer points of small boat blackfishing in our local waters. His passion for the art of blackfishing was evident and everyone in attendence enjoyed the discussion and learned from it.
January 24th, 2017.
Capt John McMurray of One more Cast Charters and the Mid Atlantic Fisheries Mangement Counsil joined us.
A great power point presentation on Jamaica bay and west end fishing was shown. Techniques , bait and natural forage as well as historical trends were covered. Discussions on fisheries management issues were had as well. Truly a fine evening , the Anglers thank John for coming!

We had a great auction again with many fine tackle items auctioned off for members to bid on! IF you missed this one , well do another next year !

We had a great bucktailing seminar for all in attendance as Pete B. made some of his secrets known and gave us quite a few tips to make our early summer exploits more productive. A good crowd was present and we adjourned after the raffles and fish reports.

Members got to be creative as we held our rig tying seminar
Everyone got refresher lessons on tying the necessary nots we tie in our every day fishing. Snell knot, alberto knot, dropper loops, improved clinch nots all were touched on.
WE created some really nice fluke bucktailing rigs to use on our spring charter the following week on the OSPREY V
We had some laughs to boot and the meeting adourned at 945
January 26th 2016,
John Maniscalco came down and discussed some of the issues facing the recreational fishermen of ny in the near future. We discussed the new anglersurvey team that John is in charge of as the Marine Biologist for NY DEC. The group of surveyors will be hitting area fishing docks to ask anglers for honest info about their fishing exploits of the day. He also touched on different species such as black sea bass in which the data we need for stock assesment wont be available until 2017. For the season ahead expect more cuts and hopefully with the fluke we should stay at the minimum the same as last year. Members got to vent their frustrations and question John as well as urge him to do as much as possible to help our cause as recreationals knowing how important we are to the economy and just how many of us are affected with each and every decision the dec makes when they have to enact measures to meet federal guidelines for fishery management.
September 26th 2017,
Another successful auction this month as members got to bid on fishing equipment and other items that were brought in to auction off. A lot of laughs and a good time was had by all!

We had a great time at our "Grill and Meet" !
The club provided Hot dogs, hamburgers , some suasage and Potato salad along with sodas and water and of Course dessert!
Members all chipped in working the grill and the food flew off the plates. Our meeting was a good one as well with a 50/50 raffle and lots of news about the charters, tournaments and upcoming events. The Tent helped a lot as Mother Nature played games with us throwing storms at us intermittently throughout the evening.
MARCH 22ND
WE WELCOMED TO THE CLUB THE CAPTAINS AND CREW OF GYSPY CHARTERS! A FUN SEMINAR ON BOTH EARLY SEASON STRIPED BASS AND FLUKE FISHING IN THE WESTERN NY BIGHT!
November 22nd,
We ended our seasonal meetings with a nice holiday party complete with catered foods and door prizes . Everyone had a great time and we wished all well for the holidays. Some club events are still running so members are encouraged to weigh in any fish that might contend for a seasonal or open derb spot thru 12/31.
Sept 27th,
We held an informative blackfishing workshop with Mike S. coming back to the club. Always a good meeting when Mike stops by. Members learned a lot as well.
May 24th,
Peter B. was auctioneer as we held our annual tackle and gear auction! Lots of fun and some fine deals were to be had!

A great time was had by all as the " Fish Guy" Chris Paparo
put on a great underwater presentation highlighting all area species both ones you are aware of and those you werent! Chris is a fun speaker as his love for his work was very evident in his seminar!

World Record holder Kenneth Westerfeld held a blackfishing clinic providing some intersting insights into togging! The photos, and mount of his impressive world record blackfish were a big hit with the crowd in attendance.
November 28th 2017;
Always a reel crowd pleaser as we end our club season with a nice party and have a lot of laughs! Above is a shot of this years door prize winners and a couple of members enjoying the food! We have some more fishing to do before the year end awards so members are urged to mail in your weigh slips promptly!
